Thomas William Jones

Thomas William Jones has been greatly influenced by the smaller spaces of his native Northern Ohio and the vastness of the Pacific Northwest. Painting exclusively in watercolor, the artist is known for his refinement of texture and delicacy of brushwork. He eliminates nonessentials to focus on the intimate isolation of his varied subjects. He tends to understate, rather than overstate, thus quietly drawing the viewer’s eye toward the subtleties achieved in his paintings.

Mr. Jones has painted since childhood and has always been drawn to the watercolor medium. A 1964 graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art, his entire career has been devoted to fine art. He was officially commissioned by the White House to paint the Reagan’s Presidential Christmas cards from 1985-1988. Vice President and Mrs. Cheney commissioned him to paint the Vice Presidential cards for 2002 and 2003. He has successfully shown in numerous solo, group, and museum exhibitions and has received numerous national awards.

Mr. Jones resides in the Pacific Northwest with his family.
