Philip Michael Martin is a British painter living and working in London. After a successful career as an art director, copywriter, and creative director in the advertising industry he now dedicates himself full time to his first love. Many of the disciplines and craft he employed in the ad industry can be found in his current work. Bold images that grab one's attention, acute understanding of composition, and great use of color are his hallmarks. His paintings often seem to emerge from randomly abstract backgrounds that are built from multi layers of paint, glue, oil and resin to give the paintings a delicious physicality.
