Robert Hansen, born in 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa, earned a BS in marketing with a minor in accounting from Drake University in 1975 before pursuing photography at the Brooks Institute, where he won the Thiesen Scholarship Award for excellence in photojournalism. After graduating in 1978, he launched a commercial photography business specializing in architectural, product, and portrait photography, with his architectural images earning numerous design awards in Southern California.
Since 1991, Robert has taught photographic workshops across the Southwest and Mexico, offering personal instruction in portfolio design and digital processes. His fine art photography is featured in private, commercial, and museum collections in the U.S., Germany, and Mexico. Notably, his work on Mexican architecture was published as Yucatan Passages in 2004 and is part of the collections at the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Yucatan and The Huntington Library. His photography has been featured annually at the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts since 1978.
