Mark Fraley was born in Kansas City, MO. in 1977. He soon moved to France, where he spent his childhood as a Christian missionary kid. He is a self taught artist who developed a strong interest in conveying hope through a visual means following two battles with cancer, first in 2008 while his wife was nine months pregnant with their second child, and again in 2010 when it reappeared. The challenges of surgery and chemo only served to propel this need to create through the means of collage, as assembling the elements of life together and making sense of it. His work is heavily inspired by family life, his work as an early childhood special education teacher, and the simple joy of childhood, three things that kept his spirit from decline during trying times.
Mark joined Grand Image in 2013.
