Self taught, Penny's first professional art job was at the Kennedy Space Center as technical illustrator, during the Moon shot era. After five "interesting" years, she emerged with a healthy
determination never to work for any large organization
again and headed for South Florida where she soon established her own graphic design and commercial art business.
Working mainly in the hotel and restaurant industry, she became known for her unique and creative style, winning numerous state and national design awards for her clients.
For the last 15 years she and her husband have resided in the charming mountain town of Waynesvile, N. C., located
at the base of the Smokey Mountain National Park, where they own and operate their own downtown art gallery. Penny paints from her home studio with the help of her three feline mentors and critics. Her love and fascination
for all animals, along with her years of working with and collecting antique illustrations and advertising are often reflected in her art.
