Born in 1956 in Wadowice, Poland, Marysia Burr began her artistic journey at the Bielsko-Biala High School of Fine Arts and later earned a master's degree from the Polish Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Her early work was influenced by prominent Polish artists Henryk Stazewski and Eugeniusz Markowski, as well as the bold style of Abstract Expressionist Willem de Kooning. After emigrating to the United States in 1981, Marysia transitioned from realistic portrayals of the human form to exploring the interplay of realism and abstraction in landscapes and nature forms.
Marysia's distinctive style blends realism with abstract elements, creating dynamic and imaginative works that captivate viewers. Her art has been exhibited across America and Europe, with solo shows in Los Angeles, Newport Beach, Germany, and Poland. Notable achievements include awards such as the 1988 "Diploma of Excellence" from the International Art Competition in New York City. Her work continues to gain recognition, with expectations of becoming a significant presence in museums, galleries, and private collections worldwide.
