A native Californian, Larry Miller studied art at San Jose State University, earning a B.A. and an M.A. in Art History as well as taking advanced studies at the Rhode Island School of Design, the University of California, Berkley and the L.A. Art Center in Pasedena, California.
Upon graduating from San Jose State, Mr. Miller pursued a career as both artist and teacher. Mr Miller taught both studio art and art history, however, his Art History classes became so popular that by the time he took an early retirement to devote full time to painting he was teaching Art History exclusively.
The California Landscape has always held a fascination for Mr Miller, and his landscape paintings focus on both the mountain and coastal regions of California. He brings a freshness to the familiar fo-shrouded coastal scenes and dramatic tree filled mountain views. A poetic painter he is adept at romanticizing a view without sentimentalizing it.
His work has been exhibited widely, and can be found in private and corporate collections throughtout the United States and Europe.
