Artwork for Hulett

Hulett, an Australian-born photographer, attended Photography Studies College in Melbourne before moving to London in 2006 where he contributed to group exhibitions and co-edited a photography publication. After moving to New York in 2011 and working in the fashion industry, Hulett became fascinated with the urban landscapes of America, specifically the abandoned parking lots along the East Coast. He focused on linear structures and barren terrain, inspired by the quiet, isolated spaces in New York that tourists often overlooked. Hulett's stark aesthetic, influenced by urban landscape painters such as Edward Hopper and Jeffery Smart, strips the city of its inhabitants to create hyper-realistic and calming compositions of shape and color.
Hulett joined Grand Image in 2021.
