Russell C Smith is an experienced collage and mixed media artist with a deep appreciation for the magical properties of art. Drawing inspiration from every form of visual art, from the natural world to museums and galleries worldwide, he has exhibited his work at esteemed galleries including Treason Gallery, Dendroica Gallery, and Galerie Youn.

Russell's passion for art began in his youth, where he discovered the beauty of life drawing and honed his skills in New York City at The Art Students League and Chinese brush painting classes. He also worked at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which exposed him to a vast and rich visual art history.

Russell's collage art journey began in New York in 1982, inspired by the works of Kurt Schwitters, Picasso, and Joseph Cornell at the Museum of Modern Art. His recent works include a black and white figurative and portrait series, which led to several solo art shows in Seattle and Montreal.
