Allison Svoboda is an internationally recognized artist working in painting, installation, and sculpture. Finding the edge between intuitive and deliberate mark making, Allison's work is both ethereal and ominous at the same time. Her sumi-e collage works are intricate paintings layered to create sculptural works. These paintings based on fractal geometry are also translated into largescale works on metal, glass and cut paper. The theory of fractal geometry; infinite layers of self-similar shapes repeated in every living thing, hold an endless fascination. The enormous energy in nature influences her work finding inspiration in plants, feathers, skeletons.
