Artwork for Martin Henson

I was born and raised in Yorkshire, surrounded by the countryside, which instilled in me a deep love for nature. My passion for photography began at the age of 12 with a simple Kodax Box Brownie camera. Though self-taught, I was inspired by photographers like Ansel Adams and Fay Godwin, but my main inspiration comes from the landscapes I encounter while trekking through the hills, dales, and moors. Witnessing the powerful and beautiful interactions between the landscape and the elements humbles me, and I strive to capture this sense of scale and wonder in my images.

Now living in Horsforth, West Yorkshire, close to the Yorkshire Dales, I continue to find endless photo opportunities. I shoot exclusively in digital format, editing and printing my work from my home studio. Early mornings and late evenings, when the sun is low, are my favorite times to shoot, often capturing dramatic, light-filled scenes. My passion for photography has remained strong since childhood, and I am driven by the desire to share my inner vision of these landscapes with others through my work.

Martin joined Grand Image in 2007.
