Artwork for Mary Ann Leff

Mary Ann Leff earned her BFA from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1971 and has since dedicated her life to creating paintings and drawings. Her work, deeply influenced by her professional and personal experiences, took on new emotional depth when she pursued a graduate degree in psychology and counseling, becoming a licensed marriage and family therapist. Through her therapeutic work, she developed a profound belief in the resilience of the human spirit, which is reflected in her art.

As a mother of two, Mary Ann's artistic journey was shaped by the complexities and contradictions of life, enriching her understanding of the feminine. Inspired by artists like Monet, Matisse, and Frank Stella, she is drawn to color and the integration of contrasting elements. In 2002, she discovered monotype, a medium that brought her immense joy. Her abstract works, characterized by intuition and spontaneity, invite viewers to experience them in the moment, allowing for emotional transformation.

Mary Ann joined Grand Image in 2007.
