Artwork for Don Munz

Don Munz, a native Californian, constantly draws on his unlimited supply of memories for the landscapes he paints. He was born in San Francisco in Northern California, and lived in Southern California for many years.

All through his life, he has found inspiration in the little known back country areas he sought out, as well-springs for his peace of mind. He now seeks out these as images for his paintings. One of his goals as a painter is to share his love of the undisturbed natural beauty still to be seen if you look, as he does, in out of the way places.

Don received his Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, from Art Center College of Design, and completed his Master's degree at California State University of Los Angeles. He holds a California Lifetime College Level Teaching Credential, and taught "core" art subjects at Pasadena City College for several years.

For many years, Don designed and printed his own original serigraph editions. Those editions were successfully marketed to a worldwide clientele. The technical experiences he gained as a serigrapher have proved to be an invaluable resource for him as he creates paintings using Impressionist techniques.

His paintings have been repeatedly selected for the prestigious California Art Club Gold Medal Exhibition, the annual Oil Painters of America show, the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Art Show and numerous other venues.

Don joined Grand Image in 2007.
