Artwork for Demagny

Born in October 1949, Demagny graduated from the National School of Fine Arts in 1974 with a degree in architecture and became the chief architect of his French hometown, where he still resides. Demagny describes his dual passions as being a "conductor" in architecture and a "soloist" in painting. His exploration of painting began during his years in school, where he was influenced by artists like Nicolas de Stael and Bernard Buffet, whose sharp angles and minimalist approach left a lasting impact on his work.

Demagny's painting style, developed over 37 years, is characterized by layered colors applied with a palette knife and spatula. Now devoting more time to painting, he finds that architecture no longer fully expresses his creativity. His work often features landscapes, floral arrangements, music, and automobile racing, but he remains open to exploring a variety of subjects. His art is a true expression of his emotions and experiences, conveyed through his distinctive use of color and form.

Demagny joined Grand Image in 2009.
