Artwork for Elizabeth Horning

Elizabeth Horning, born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, earned a BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1965, where she was awarded a Royal Bailey Farnum Scholarship and grants from the Ford and Carnegie Foundations. After beginning her career as an art teacher in New Hampshire, she moved to the American Southwest in 1973, where she has since thrived as an illustrator, commercial artist, art director, designer, and fine artist. Her dedication to continual learning has led her to develop exceptional technical proficiency.

Horning's work primarily focuses on oil painting, which she finds offers a spontaneity that other mediums lack. She skillfully captures the splendor of flowers and the vitality of life in her compositions, bringing a unique depth to her subjects. Her paintings are celebrated for not just replicating nature's beauty but amplifying it. Horning's art is featured in galleries across North America and is held in numerous corporate and private collections.

Elizabeth joined Grand Image in 2006.
