Artwork for Marysia

Born in 1956 in Wadowice, Poland, Marysia began her artistic journey at the Bielsko-Biala High School of Fine Arts, graduating Magna Cum Laude, before pursuing further studies at the Polish Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where she majored in Graphic Arts with a focus on painting and drawing. Influenced by renowned Polish artists Henryk Stazewski and Eugeniusz Markowski, as well as American Abstract Expressionist Willem de Kooning, Marysia developed a unique style that blends realism with abstract elements, creating dynamic compositions that invite viewers to engage both with reality and imagination.

After emigrating to the United States in 1981 and settling in Southern California, Marysia's work shifted from human figures to landscapes and nature forms, emphasizing light, color, and motion. Her paintings, which begin with realistic depictions that gradually incorporate abstract shapes and colors, have been showcased in solo exhibitions across the U.S. and Europe, including in Los Angeles, Newport Beach, West Germany, and Poland. Marysia's work has garnered numerous awards, including the "Diploma of Excellence" at the International Art Competition in New York City. Her distinctive style continues to captivate audiences, making her a rising figure in the art world.

Marysia joined Grand Image in 2004.
