Artwork for David Marty

David grew up in Palo Alto, California, and pursued his passion for art at Biola University, later studying at Art Center College of Design and Scottsdale Artist School. Initially, his career focused on graphic design and illustration, leading him to open a successful graphic design studio in Seattle, Washington. However, his love for painting eventually resurfaced, and in recent years, he has dedicated himself to capturing the breathtaking beauty of the Pacific Northwest through his oil paintings.

Inspired by the diverse landscapes of the region, David's work has evolved from a photorealistic style to one influenced by the French Impressionists, embracing brighter colors and a looser, more spontaneous approach. His paintings often begin as plein air studies, allowing viewers to engage their imagination and become part of the creative process. David's work has been juried into prestigious exhibitions such as the C.M. Russell Art Auction and the National Western Art Show. He currently resides in Edmonds, Washington, with his wife Jean and their five children.

David joined Grand Image in 2006.
