Artwork for Darrell Hill

Darrell M. Hill, born in 1941 in Hillsborough, Illinois, is a renowned "bold" impressionist with over two decades of experience in the fine art world. Educated at the College of the Sequoias, Fresno State University, and Brooks Institute, Hill's mastery of light, color theory, and paint technique has established him as a significant figure in contemporary art. His diverse subject matter-ranging from beaches and tropics to portraits-exemplifies his distinct style, characterized by layered paint, strong contrasts, and a remarkable use of light and texture.

Hill's work, often described as colorful, comforting, and emotionally resonant, reflects his keen observational skills and ability to capture fleeting moments of light. Influenced by masters like Monet, John Singer Sargent, and Van Gogh, Hill has participated in numerous solo exhibitions, and his paintings are part of private and public collections worldwide. He currently resides in the Hawaiian village of Holualoa with his wife, who is also an artist.

Darrell joined Grand Image in 2006.
