Artwork for Lei Hayden

Lei Hayden, born in Presque Isle, Maine, developed a deep respect for nature growing up in a rural farming community. She graduated from the University of Arizona in 1993 with a BFA in illustration, cherishing the experience as it broadened her artistic perspective. Influenced by artists like Mary Cassatt and John Singer Sargent, as well as poet Robert Frost, Hayden views her role in life as that of an artist, dedicated to observing and documenting humanity and the environment.

With an impressionist style characterized by dramatic contrasts and rich color, Hayden's work reflects her passion for capturing the essence of her surroundings. She finds solace and inspiration in her studio, describing it as her sanctuary where she can fully explore her creative impulses. Hayden's art is a testament to her commitment to leaving a visual record of life on earth.

Lei joined Grand Image in 2008.
