Honeysuckle - Pantone 2011 Color of the Year
If you've grown tired of winter as we in Seattle have, and the colors we associate with it; the grays, browns, off-whites and earth tones that have dominated the design scene in recent years, you're in for a treat. The color gurus at Pantone have declared Honeysuckle, a warm, sunny reddish-pink shade, the color of 2011. Not a timid tint, honeysuckle is “encouraging and uplifting” and perfect for warding off economic doldrums and winter blues. But it’s not for the eyes only. According to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, Honeysuckle is more than a color. There is a connection between the senses, as its name can conjure romance and sweetness, and brings a wave of nostalgia for its “associated delicious scent reminiscent of the carefree days of spring and summer.” I agree, just looking at the word honeysuckle, I can smell that sweet scent in the breeze, and know that spring is on it’s way. At Grand Image we expect to see this striking, eye-catching warm rosy shade pop up on everything from apparel and cosmetics to appliances and home décor. Not just a feminine color anymore, we expect to see honeysuckle spicing up rooms of all styles and for all genders. Nothing exudes confidence like a man in a pink shirt! Honeysuckle is the perfect type of color to use in accenting your space, whether that is through soft goods accessories, or in our case wall décor. Grand Image offers many images in this perfect shade that lives between pink and peach. They range in style and subject matter from floral to abstract, classic to modern. Additionally, as an accent color, this shade of pink will work great with dark gray, chocolate brown, taupe, off-white and green. To help you work this energizing hue into your designs, we’ve compiled a selection of artwork from the Grand Image collection that will add a lively flair to any interior space.
