Earth Day

It’s Earth Day, a time to plant a tree, bike to work and think creatively about new ways to help the environment. Our planet is our only home and we are all its custodians. Collectively, every small decision to reduce, re-use or recycle adds up to big improvements. Here at Grand Image, we print breathtaking giclee fine art on archival quality substrates. Unfortunately printing on high content post-consumer recycled materials isn’t an option for us as the quality of the material has not yet met our standards. However, we recycle everything we can. For us, that’s two-thirds of our total waste! This adds up to 3.8 tons of paper per year that we’re keeping out of landfills. Additionally, all of our substrates are sourced from Forestry Stewardship Council approved manufacturers. But wait, the savings doesn’t stop there, we also reduce and re-use whenever possible. In production, this means “ganging up” jobs side by side to fit as much artwork as we can per roll of paper. Our sales team operates mostly via email, reducing office paper waste. In Creative, our artists find new uses for all kinds of materials to create textures and patterns. The ways we can shift towards a more sustainable lifestyle, even at work, are limited only by our imaginations. What can you do to contribute?
